Benefits of Drinking Water ???

I admit it, sometimes I don't feel thirsty, and so I don't drink enough water. I forget, for a while, about the benefits of drinking water. What happens is that I go for a few hours without drinking, thinking I'm doing fine. Then I just take a little drink and suddenly I realize I'm really thirsty and I'll finish the whole glass and fill it up again! I think this is pretty common. We don't always recognize the signals our bodies are sending us that we need to drink. We'll be tired and dragging a bit, have a little headache, maybe walk into the kitchen just looking for something and we don't know what. These may be signs that we need a drink of water. Our bodies understand the importance of drinking water, but our brains just seem to forget.

I think it's a good idea to keep a glass of water around all the time. Always make sure your water is the highest quality water you can get, because not only is it better for you, but it tastes better too. You will be more likely to drink enough water if what you're drinking is pure and refreshing. Once you consider the benefits of drinking water, you'll never want to let yourself get into that semi-dehydrated state I just described.

Your body is 60 to 80% water (unless you are seriously dehydrated)! That water does a lot of important things. Not drinking enough water puts a heavy load on your body's internal systems, causing fatigue, amongst other things. Water thins your blood, which allows it to carry away toxins and waste products. When you get dehydrated your blood can't do its job properly. The toxins build up in your muscles, causing you to feel tired and short on energy. Of course, water helps keep your skin young and glowing too. And who doesn't want youthful looking skin?

It turns out that the benefits of drinking water also include protecting your heart health. Drinking more than 5 glasses of water per day has been shown to be strongly correlated with lower incidence of heart attacks in both men and women.

And if you're thinking about trying to lose some weight, you should definitely make sure you drink enough water. I can't think of a single diet program that doesn't tell you to drink plenty of water. Weight Watchers, Atkins, the Zone, you name it: they all emphasize the importance of drinking water, not just while on their programs, but all the time. Thirst can be mistaken as hunger, causing overeating. That's because water is so important to proper digestion. Water helps you get what you need out of food.

One of the best ways to ensure that you drink enough water is to make sure your own water supply is appetizing and pure. Many people will not drink enough water, even though they have heard about the benefits of drinking water, simply because they find the taste of their water dissatisfying. Given the importance of drinking water, it is worthwhile to spend a little extra time and effort to obtain the best water you can!  Source
